Job Description

This position involves providing specialized educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 setting. The role requires delivering tailored instruction designed to meet the unique communication and learning needs of these students through itinerant services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
• Providing direct instruction and support in classrooms across multiple school sites.
• Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
• Assessing student progress and adapting teaching methods as necessary.
• Utilizing assistive technology and communication strategies appropriate for each student.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Deaf Education or related credentials.
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across K-12 grade levels.
• Strong knowledge of educational strategies, communication methods, and accommodations for hearing-impaired students.
• Ability to manage a flexible schedule and travel between multiple locations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Schedule and Location:

• Itinerant position serving K-12 students in the Warrior, AL area.
• Approximately 25 hours per week.
• Contract duration: Non-school year (NSY).
